The City of Tallahassee has been a longtime supporter of arts and culture in our community. In an effort to promote, encourage, and share our local art with residents and visitors, the Art in Public Places program was created more than 20 years ago. Since 1994, the City has contracted with COCA, the area’s designated arts agency, to manage and implement all aspects of the Art in Public Places program. COCA curates and installs rotating exhibits in the City Hall and Artport galleries. COCA also manages the City’s permanent art collection, which is displayed throughout City Hall and other public buildings as well as publicly accessible outdoor locations. While COCA works closely with the City on public art initiatives, we also offer support, consulting and resources to many other entities regarding public artworks and projects in our community.
Amid the bustle of the airport, an oasis of art welcomes more than a million people each year.
Located in the heart of downtown, the City Hall Art Gallery offers a 360° display of local artwork.
